    Extended Producer Responsibility is the obligation that catches most sellers by surprise. Packaging, electrical equipment and batteries each require you to register as a producer in every EU country where you place goods on the market — separate registers, separate portals, separate reporting cycles, separate fees. Since PPWR became applicable on 12 August 2026, packaging EPR also requires a locally established authorised representative in each Member State where you are not established. Marketplaces verify these numbers automatically, and listings without valid ones are suspended without warning.
